GAI - Graphic Arts Institute
Address: 665 Third Street, Suite 500
City: San Francisco, CA 94107
Country: United States
Since its beginning 1968, the Graphic Arts Institute has been a non-profit organization dedicated to education and training in the technology, arts and skills of the graphic communications industry. GAI's mission is to find technology that will benefit our industry, then train individuals how to best utilize this technology.
GAI serves professionals in the ever growing graphic communications industry. These include advertising, printing, graphic design and service bureaus.
Most of the 1200 seats in GAI's training programs filled each year are professionals in the graphic communications industry. Advertising agencies, graphic design firms, printing companies, and service bureaus from around the country send their valuable work force here to GAI to obtain the latest solutions in hardware and software technology. In addition to industry professionals updating their skills, a portion of GAI's enrollment comes from participants outside the graphic communications industry. Total retraining programs are custom designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to enter our industry.
GAI is the preferred educational training center for a number of graphic asrts associations in Northern CAlifornia including: the Printing Industries of Northern California, the Design and Media Association and the Print Buyers Association.
Certificates of completion are awarded to those who successfully complete all the criteria necessary for each course taken. This criteria includes meeting the attendance requirement, passing the final exam, and successful completion of the hands-on projects.
Those considering a career retraining program will be interviewed, screened, and proposed a group of courses customized to make them marketable in the graphic communications area they wish to enter.
Our learning laboratories are equipped with the latest in hardware and software for classes in graphic design, printing technologies and website creation.
