PLFTA (Polish Flexographic Technical Association = Zrzeszenie Polskich Fleksografów) was founded in 1995 at the initiative of the flexographic milieu, and is an open, all-Poland organization representing interests of those associated on the basis of free will declared by business firms dealing with:
- printing production and services using the flexographic technology
- trade in manufactures and means of production availing of such technology
- manufacture and servicing of machines and equipment applied in such production
- providing consultancy services
- personnel training as regards the involved market segment.
The Association has a corporate status and - operating self-dependently under the law and its Articles of Association - it serves organizational and legal functions. The Association may affiliate with both home and foreign organizations and is a member of flexographic associations in England, Germany and the USA.
Some of the Association's duties, as specified in 7 of the Articles, are as follows:
1.To exercise advisory, information and service functions to satisfy the needs of Association members;
2.To create a forum to exchange information and discuss various professional issues in members' circle;
3. To widespread new organization techniques, production engineering and new technology as useful in the business of the bodies associated;
4. To render assistance in organizing vocational training and engineering studies;
5. To carry out operations aimed at undertaking cooperation between flexographic printing houses and producers of materials and machines;
6. To appoint individuals to serve expert's and lecturer's functions and give consultations to Association members;
7. To enhance development and activity of vocational education and professional improvement in the branches embraced by the Association's objectives;
8. To cooperate with like foreign organizations;
9. To facilitate contacts with foreign firms.
The Association strives to rise the level of flexo knowledge among its associates and in the milieu alike. It is of particular importance given the situation of the vocational education in flexo and the imports-absorptiveness of flexography. Within the framework of the activities fulfilling the statutory capacities, it is worth to mention the following:
a) Carrying on publishing activity - Association is a publisher of the first in Poland “Handbook of flexography”,
b) Organizing seminars and vocational trainings,
c) Providing consultations on flexo production start-up and run,
d) Informing Association members of branch fairs and training courses held abroad,
e) Constituting a Qualifying Committee to approve candidates for experts and lecturers for the flexo branch,
f) Translation & verification of texts concerning flexo,
g) Participating at branch fairs,
h) Assistance in finding trade partners in the Polish flexographic milieu,
i) Cooperation with national FTAs.
