ASSOGRAFICI was set up in 1946 by entrepreneurs of the printing and paper and board converting industries. Today Assografici has more than 1.000 member companies, with 1.300 production units, which for their broad activities employ more than 50.000 employees.
According to its by-laws, the main aims of the Italian Association of the Printing, Paper and Paper-Converting Industries, which is member of Confindustria - the Italian Confederation of Employers - are, generally speaking, to provide member printing companies assistance and consultancy on a wide range of issues and aspects. Indeed Assografici carries out its activities both on a national and international level.
Assografici's structure is very flexible and marked by high professionality. Today there are two major areas of activities, that is the "Area for Environment and Certification" and the "Area for Economics and Studies", as well as a number of other Functions, such as Communication, Education, Vocational Training and Universities, and the various Specialized Interest Groups.
ASSOGRAFICI'S MAIN AIMS ARE:
- To stimulate and promote the knowledge and image of the printing and paper-converting industries;
- To represent member companies in the relations with institutions and public administrations, bodies and economic, political, labour, social and cultural organizations;
- To assist member companies on union and labour matters, as well as on social, industrial, environmental and fiscal subjects;
- To stipulate agreements with unions and collective agreements for the represented industry;
- To promote the set-up and development of initiatives for vocational training.
ASSOGRAFICI'S NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Assografici:
- Participates directly in those Bodies and Companies which take care of the promotional activities and exhibitions for the printing and paper-converting field: Comitato Fiere Industria (Industry Fairs Committee), Gec Pack, Centrexpo SpA;
- Is represented in those Associations and Consortia dealing with packaging and environment: Associazione Industria e Ambiente (the Association for Industry and Environment), Comieco (Consortium for the Environment), Istituto Italiano Imballaggio (the Italian Institute for Packaging);
- Participates in cultural debates and contributes to post-diploma and university level education: indeed through E.N.I.P.G. (the National Institute for Education and Training in the printing field) Assografici promotes contacts and cooperation with major printing schools;
- Assografici carries out publishing activities and quality certification ISO 9000;
- Assografici participates in the works of the UNI's Committees, the Italian Institute for Standardization, which deal with questions concerning environment, paper, printing, packaging and the building industry;
- On an international level Assografici is represented in a variety of trade Associations: Intergraf, Citpa, Fefco, Ibfi, Ecma, Fedes, Igi, Finat, Eurosac and actively co-operates with the International Printing and Paper Converting Federations in Australia, Austria, Belgium Croatia, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Island, Luxemburg, Norway, Holland, Portugal, Rumenia, Republik of Slovakia, Spain, Sveden, United States and Hungary.
