The original denomination has been changed to IRTEMP in 1992. IRTEMP location is inside the C.N.R. Research Area of Arco Felice, a small town close to Naples. Normally more than sixty people work in the Institute. About fourty of them are part of the permanent staff of C.N.R. The others are mainly young italian and foreign post doctoral fellows.
Several University students, post doctors, professors and researchers from Italian and foreign Universities and Research Institutes are very often guests of the Institute. The IRTEMP frequently organizes meetings and schools and is a stimulating place for scientific discussions and seminars for Italian and foreign scientists. Moreover, the Institute has many joint programs with several Italian and foreign Universities and is active in the "Target" and "Strategic" programs of the C.N.R.
