Gulf Pack 2007 is the eighth edition of the Middle East’s leading industry event targeting the rapidly developing market for packaging across the entire Gulf region and surrounding area.

According to research undertaken by the leading management consultants IMES, the UAE market is growing and is at the core of a Gulf population totalling 37m people. For the first time in 2005, Gulf Pack worked with IMES to undertake a thorough survey of the consumer packaging market in the UAE.

Gulf Pack has grown by a substantial amount over the past few years, which is a reflection of the growth in the packaging industry and the diligent planning by the organisers F&E, who carefully planned the event in accordance with the packaging industry’s international calendar.

The 2007 show has already been booked by some of the most established packaging companies within the region and across the globe, all of which have notably increased the size of their booths. Some of these exhibitors are Clear Pack MEA, Techno Middle East, Europack, Wolf Verpack and Termopak.

• What's New in Gulf Pack 2007?

Gulf Label a new dedicated zone has been introduced to the show for 2007 to harness the dramatic potential of the flexible packaging market and for those containers requiring pre-printed labels.

• Why Exhibit ?

The Gulf Pack exhibition has become one of the most effective mediums for establishing and maintaining customer relations within the packaging industry across the entire Middle East. In an increasingly digital age, exhibitions are the only media where buyer, seller and product physically come together - a potent force for business opportunities.

• Why Visit ?

There are many ways of sourcing product and supplier information, but only exhibitions allow you to put a suppliers’ claims comprehensively to the test easily and cost effectively – by examining the products for yourself, questioning their creators, and comparing and contrasting their performance.

Gulf Pack is the recognised launch pad for new packaging products in the Middle East, and an extremely time-efficient way to keep up to date with the latest innovations being applied to the industry.

You can compile a wide range of competitive information on products and suppliers in a concentrated period of time. Industry Research highlights the fact decision-makers are more likely to name trade shows as an ‘extremely useful’ source of purchasing information than any other media.

• Students Design Awards

The organisers of next year’s Gulf Pack and Gulf Print trade fairs have announced the details of their latest competition for students studying graphics and packaging design. The awards set out to encourage the emerging design talent in the region, under the new name of the PANDAS, short for Packaging and Design Awards for Students.

The next awards culminate in an exhibition of entries and an awards ceremony staged at Gulf Pack and Gulf Print in Dubai 2 – 5 April 2007. This will be the third competition organised so far and, for the first time, will be available to students from around the entire region. Universities and colleges from the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan and Lebanon have been invited to take part.

There are eight categories all designed to challenge and stimulate young creative minds. These include five in the graphic disciplines including posters, typography, magazines, books and the corporate image for new Dubai Light Railway system, with an additional three categories focused on packaging. These include the design for multi-packs, soft drink containers and a perfume bottle.

• Many sectors of the packaging industry will be present such as:

Bag & Sack Making, Blister & Skin Packaging, Bottle Moulding, Closures & Closing Machinery, Coding / Marking, Flexible Packaging, Food Processing, Form, Fill & Sealing, Heat Sealing, Injection Moulding, Shrink & Stretch Wrapping, Vacuum Forming, Tin Plate, Carton Making, Bottle & Can Making,
