This program is aimed at those who are interested in pursuing a rewarding career in Packaging. An integral part of everyday life, Packaging is tied to virtually everything, from cosmetics to heavy industry. This diversity of industries provides unique career opportunities for graduates of the Packaging program.
Mohawk's Packaging program emphasizes the technical and structural considerations in designing packaging systems. Environmental impact is also considered in the program.
The program is designed to produce Packaging specialists capable of applying technical materials knowledge to:
• the design, manufacture and use of packaging,
• containing, protecting, preserving and transporting products in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
Studies emphasize: the technical and structural considerations in the design of packaging systems; physical properties of material (including paper, glass, metal and plastics used in rigid and flexible packaging) and their applications in a manufacturing environment; and development of fundamental quality assurance capabilities.
